Frequently Asked Questions

RENTAL

Q: What is included with my rental?
You’ll receive a bike (or e-bike), helmet, and lock. For rentals longer than 4 hours, a charger is available upon request.

Q: What constitutes a daily rental period?
Our 1-day rentals are same-day based on our business hours, with the longest possible rental period being from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Rentals running after 7:30 PM will be charged for an additional day.

REFUNDS

Q: What is your refund policy?

  • 15–7 days prior to rental: 100% reimbursement (minus $20 processing fee).
  • 6–2 days prior to rental: 50% reimbursement (minus $20 processing fee).
  • Within 24 hours or no-show: No reimbursement. Glacier Bike Rental reserves the right to keep the payment made at the time of booking.

Q: What happens in the case of rain / bad weather?
If bad weather occurs on the scheduled day, you may reschedule within 6 months. Out-of-state customers may request a refund (minus $35 processing & admin fee) with proof of residence.

REQUIRED HEIGHT & EXPERIENCE

Q: Do you have a minimum height or expertise requirement?
Our bikes are recommended for riders between 5’3” and 6’5”. While the low step-thru frame makes mounting easy, e-bikes are heavier than regular bikes and have 26″ fat tires, so we recommend that riders are confident and experienced cyclists.

DAMAGES

Q: What should I do if I get a flat tire?
It’s your responsibility to repair punctures. If we need to replace the tube, we charge $40.00. If the bike needs collection, there’s a $35.00 fee (plus assessed damages). Requesting a replacement bike (if available) costs $30.00.

Q: How do you handle damages?
When you return the bike, we’ll inspect it together. Damages beyond normal wear and tear must be paid by the renter. Costs are assessed based on the damage.

BATTERY LIFE (E-BIKES)

Q: What is the power range of your e-bikes?
Depending on mode (electric, pedal assist, normal pedal, or boost), terrain, weather, and rider weight, the range is typically 25–60 miles.

Q: Can I extend battery life during my ride?
Yes! An original 3A charger is available upon request. A full charge takes 4–6 hours. Please avoid using non-approved chargers.

RENTAL AREA / LOCATION

Q: Where can I rent your bikes?
Glacier Bike Rental currently serves Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Morrisville, and Apex areas.

Q: Do you deliver to hotels or vacation homes?
Yes. However, the renter must be available in person at the time of delivery.

Q: Do you have a physical shop?
Not yet! Our service is online only, with delivery to your chosen location. We’re working towards opening a physical store soon to make rentals even more convenient.
