Rental Agreement Between
- Owner: Glacier Bike Rentals (“the Owner”)
- Customer: The individual renting a bike (“the Renter”)
1. General Terms
- Renting a bike or e-bike from Glacier Bike Rentals means the Renter agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
- Cycling can be dangerous and carries risks of accidents, injury, or death. By renting, the Renter assumes all risks and responsibilities.
- The Owner is not liable for injury, death, theft, loss, or damage to personal property during the rental period.
2. Bike Collection & Payment
- Payment is made online via our website or in person.
- A valid ID must be presented before taking the bike.
- Before leaving, both Owner and Renter will check the bike’s condition.
- Once the bike leaves our location, the Renter is fully responsible for it until return.
- All bikes/accessories must be returned at the agreed time and place.
- Late returns are charged $40 per hour (or $25 per half-hour).
3. Care & Cleanliness
- The Renter must take good care of the bike and accessories, protect them from damage, loss, or theft.
- In case of theft, the Renter will be charged the replacement cost at purchase value.
- Bikes must be returned clean. A minimum $10 cleaning fee applies if returned dirty.
- Helmets, locks, and chargers (for e-bikes) are included. Bikes must always be securely locked when unattended.
4. Technical Assistance
- In case of breakdown, contact us immediately.
- Flat tire repair fee: $25 (if fixed by us) / $40 if full replacement is required.
- Bike collection service: $35 + damages (if applicable).
- Replacement bike (subject to availability): $40.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
- Bad weather: Rentals may be rescheduled within 6 months or refunded (minus $35 admin fee) for out-of-state customers.
- Cancellations:
- 7–15 days before rental: Full refund.
- 2–6 days before rental: 50% refund.
- Within 24 hours or no-show: No refund.
6. Risks & Responsibilities
- Minimum age: 18 years (or under 18 if accompanied by a responsible adult).
- Renter must follow all traffic rules. Fines or tickets are the Renter’s responsibility.
- Helmets must be worn at all times.
- Theft: If a bike is stolen, the Renter must file a police report within 2 days and pay the full replacement cost.
7. Delivery & Collection (if applicable)
- Delivery service may be available at extra cost.
- Bikes must be ready for pickup at the agreed time and place.
- Changing pickup/drop-off location after booking: $35 fee.
8. General Riding Rules
The Renter must:
- Check bike safety (frame, wheels, brakes, lights, reflectors) before use.
- Not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
- Avoid dangerous conditions (snow, ice, storms).
- Not perform stunts, racing, or illegal riding.
- Not carry passengers or heavy loads.
- Wear visible/reflective clothing when riding at night.
9. Subleasing Prohibited
The Renter may not sublease or lend the bike to anyone else.
10. Termination of Agreement
Glacier Bike Rentals may terminate this agreement and reclaim the bike at any time if terms are violated.
